The Art of Hearing God & Speaking to OthersDates: March 4, 11, 18

The Apostle Paul challenged to believers in Corinth to seek the gift of prophecy. God desires to speak to us and through us to others with words that bring life and healing.
For three weeks, we will explore:
- the different ways in which God communicates to us,
- how to grow in sensitivity to God's voice, as well as,
- how to discern, interpret and communicate these truths to others.

This is just my thought, but I wouldn't say that hearing God and speaking to others is an art. I would say it's simply maturity to know how we hear from God and and how to share what we hear with others. I think it involves more obedience, patience and guidance. I don't find that there are many mature enough in this to give even guidance, and added to that is the different ways in which God communicates as you said.
Many try to domesticate God, particularly hearing His voice and turn it into a science. But, it's not a science, it's a relationship. And all relationships flow more like art...
God often speaks through symbols, pictures, images, impressions, etc... These can't be understood, nor interpreted as a science, rather more like art...
It does take patience and maturity, as well as a growing awareness...
I'm sorry you don't know any "mature enough to give even guidance." I have to say, the last three week (during our class), I was pleasantly surprised at how many "mature" people we have right here among us... It was inspiring to see people engage, step out, grow and share of their present interactions and adventures with God's voice and speaking to others...
To see God at work (as I was able to observed) within an individual and even among two or more individuals as they share and pray together is breath-taking...
As everyone's rear-view mirror says, "Objects are closer than they appear." I think the same is true with God's speaking into our lives and authentically-hungry-growing and mature persons among us... they are often, simply closer than it appears...
